Double Time,Straight Ahead,Half Time Feels (Intermediate)

May 13, 2012 / Simon / Charts, Lessons

Sometimes within a song the “time feel” can change. This means that the tempo stays the same but the placement of the snare gives the listener the impression that the music has more space or slowed or that the music has more urgency or speeded up.

You should be able to easily switch between these feels without losing any tempo or your place in the music.

Try putting your metronome at around 80 bpm and play each one until comfortable. then try switching between them and then joining them up with some appropriate fills. Too easy. Enjoy!
