The last few weeks have seen a complete change in the way I run my Drum Lessons business. At the start of the term I was drowning in paper, worksheets and music scores. Every surface in my home studio was covered in paper and it was getting difficult to stay organised to say the least.
So I decided to convert to the electronic revolution and invest in an iPad. It’s taken some time to set it up but with a few apps like For Score and any tune and Dropbox I’ve managed to get a great system going. I can find any worksheets easily and email them straight away to my student, I can link music scores with the audio track instead of searching for them both separately, I can then send a link to this audio track for the student to play along with at home. I can even slow the song down and loop sections to help learn specific parts. And I can keep track of a students progress through note shelf app.
I’ve always been a bit of a gadget man but never thought I’d be able to make my music business run so much more easily and efficiently. Happy Days!!
